Dear Stephen,

Thank you for contacting O2 Customer Service.

I am sorry but all our customers were informed through a text message about the change in the call rates (25p) to be charged for making calls to 07744 and 07755 numbers.

For details of the Terms and Conditions of your contract, please click on the link below:

http://www.o2.co.uk/termsconditions/tariffsandboltons0153

The clause 8.4 of our Terms and Conditions states that if we make any changes to the inclusive allowance or the line rental charge, then you can cancel your contract by giving us 30 days notice. This is not applicable, if the increase or change is related to any additional service. In this case, you can stop using that additional service.

The calls made using the prefix 07744 or 07755 is an additional service, which is not provided by us. We will be charging 25p per minute, if you make calls using these prefixes from 1 July 2006 onwards. If you do not want to get charged for using this service, you can discontinue using the service.

Your contract will end on 15 August 2006. If you still want to cancel your contract before this date, you will have to pay the relevant termination charges. These charges will be calculated by taking the remaining number of months (of your contract) multiplied by your monthly line rental.

Please reply to this email, if you want to cancel your contract and we will help you further.

If you need further information about this matter, please reply to this email. For further details about O2, please visit our online Help Centre at:

When did you recieve that, i have only just recieved confirmation of my submission of question, off the second one! I did it yesterday morning.

I first sent a email to o2 on saturday morning and got a reply Sunday. Then i replied again Sunday to see if they would give me an excellent deal.

Just got another reply where they have refused to give me an excellent deal, however i can still cancel my contract :)

So i've just replied asking for my PAC and a letter to confirm termination without penalty charge.

well ive jumped on the band wagon here sent an email in, hopefully they will allow me to cancel the god damn contracts, got 2 O2 contracts, one is up next month, but got a new one about 2 weeks ago, would love to cancel both as my funds at the moment are very tight, so fingers crossed.

Got my email from them this morning stating I could cancel my contract with no charges, I do only have 2 months left though, so I have replied to the email. Just gotta wait and see now.

Edit: Had a reply back from them already now saying I cannot cancel my contract without paying any fees!?
