Dear Kevin,

Thank you for contacting O2 Customer Service.

I am sorry you want to cancel your contract, as you are not happy with the information that calls to 07744 and 07755 numbers will be charged from July 01, 2006 at 25p per minute. These calls will not be included in your free call allowance.

Your contract started on 04 August 2005 and it will end on 04 August 2006.

As you want to cancel your contract I have forwarded your details to our Cancellations team and they will contact you to arrange the disconnection of your account.

But judging by that, ill get some good deals anyway as there is only a month left on that particular one....i somehow need to get my NEW contract canceled now, as the deal i got isnt working for me and im overspending each month by £20, which in my situation aint good.

Thank you for contacting O2 Customer Service.

I am sorry for any inconvenience that may have been caused.

I can confirm you that the number beginning with 07744 and 07755 will not be
included in the free allowance from 01 July 2006. This mean that you charged
for dialling these numbers.

According to our section 8.4 of Terms and Conditions you can cancel your
contract if your usage are high on these numbers. If you do not have usage on
these numbers you cannot cancel your contract.

now i'm not impressed, as i was using my PAYG phone for international calling so there is no trace :(

Well, if you weren't using those numbers before, then you haven't been put at a disadvantage ;)

Makes perfect sense to me.

no, but i was spending £10/mo using my PAYG phone with international bolt on because last time i used my contract phone the bill was not right and it took them weeks to sort out. i would have used the service had i known about it before this thread ;)

still it is a breach of contract and i would like to get out.

I'm with you on this one.
If you've never called one of these numbers before then you are not disadvantaged after the change in cost.

Paras, have they canceled your contract yet? Did you have to pay any fee's?

er lol im not even on O2, I have a 3, T-mobile and a oragne card but not O2.

I just found this on another forum and thought it may help others here.

my 3rd email from o2.

"Dear James,

Thank you for contacting O2 Customer Service.

I am sorry that you want to end your contract with us.

I have forwarded your details to our Cancellation team and they will be contacting you in five working days.

I am unable to advice you about the termination charges. You can call our Cancellation team on 08702 410 202 and they will help you further. Lines are open Monday to Saturday between 8:00am and 8:00pm and on Sunday between 10:00am and 6:00pm. Calls are charged at national rate.

If you need further information about this matter, please reply to this email."

So looks like there could be a termination fee :(

unless you have used the numbers, they will not allow you to cancel penalty free.

Tbh it should not matter if you have used the numbers of not. If you have not already used the numbers, but you wished to in a month or two, then you are at a disadvantage for the contract you signed up for.

They are making it quite difficult. The first response said I couldn't cancel so I tried again. The second response said I could cancel but I hadn't supplied enough info as I hadn't emailed them from my O2 email address and that I had to supply name, addy, dob and mob number to which I am awaiting a reply.

so looks like both my contracts are going bye bye lol

I just rang up because I got fed up of waiting around and the woman said O2 aren't responsible because the "regulatory body" changed contract not them...yeah right! Why would a regulator increase the price of certain calls when other networks still get it free?

I'm going to email again, what do I do, just reply to the one I got or do I have to go through their site again?

This all sounds very interesting! Do you have to give your phone back if you sucessfully cancel? I'm on about month 5 of 18. Reason I want to cancel is that my phone was nicked!
