Does anyone have one?
What are your thought on it?

Basically i popped into ******* to ask for advice, as i wanted one that would take sporting shots of my son who plays ice hockey. My existing one is wayyy to slow a shutter speed for that.
I was told the CyberShot W210 wouldn't do the job, and that the only compact(ish) digi camera that would do what i want is the Canon IXUS 200. He showeed me some pics on his mac that were take on the 200 and they looked good.
However, upon reading some online reviews some seemed to dismiss it for motion shots.
So i'm back to being confused as to what camera to get.

My wishlist was:
  • compact enough for me to take it everywhere with me
  • Be able to take snapshots of action scene (ice hockey, football)
So, can anyone help out wit this please? The Canon is at the top of my budget at approx. £230/.

Most people reccomend the Panasonic equivalents, we have a TZ5 which has been superceeded by the TZ6 and TZ7 ,and I'm very happy with it.

I can't advise on the specific compact cameras, but what I can say is that I can't believe there would be a huge difference between compacts when it comes to the type of shooting you are trying to do. If the light is low, you'll end up with slow shutter speeds and hence motion blur etc, pretty much regardless of the camera. This can only really be improved with a compact by getting closer to your subject. I supposed what I'm trying to do is manage your expectations on what you're going to achieve by buying a new camera, because it may not fix all of your problems.
