I'm after a colour printer and after doing some research I think I've decided on the Canon Pixma IP4600 but wanted some opinions on it first!

I am after a printer for occasional use that will do normal text and the odd photo and this seems to be a decent option.

Does anyone know the difference between the IP4600 and the IP4700??

Thanks for any opinions.....

I used to have a 4500 and was very pleased with it. I have now got an MP610 which is a combined printer/scanner/copier, and has equally good print quality. I think the current version of the 610 is the 620. Higher versions such as the 640 have built in wifi. However it was the board that has the wifi and usb that did for my 4500.

As far as the difference between the 4600 and the 4700 it seems to be that they are launching new models this month I would imagne the former being replace by the latter. The only difference I can see is that it has slightly faster mono printing.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I was pretty sure I was going for the 4600 but the 4700 seems to be a bit cheaper for some reason!?!?

The IP4500 is the best printer I have owned, the 4600 (and 4700 I would think) simply continue on in that trend...

I am not sure if you trying to be cute with the quotes Jbloggs. I wrote it like that as I don't have it anymore so I am no longer impressed with it

Certainly wasn't being "cute"...simply agreeing that it was a good printer, however since you seem to have taken some kind of offense I have removed the quote just to keep you happy!
