Canon raw (cr2) dimensions/resolution

Hey guys

I have my Canon 450D set to save as raw + L so I get both a cr2 file and a jpg file.

When I connect the camera to my PC and browse the memory card it shows both the cr2 files and the jpg files as being at 4272x2848 with the cr2 file being around 18meg for my current lot of photos, however when I copy these files to my PC the cr2 file drops to 2256x1504 but the file size remains the same (around 18meg) while the jpg file stays at 4272x2848

Does anyone have any idea why it's doing this?

Just a change in the dpi doing that.

Are you using Camera Raw in PS? If so, the import options are at the bottom of the screen and you can alter the dpi of the image when you open it.

Yeah, using PS. Just spotted the DPI options at the bottom of the window when I open the cr2 files.
