Anyone having problems with their Yahoo! email accounts? All of a sudden I'm able to access mine. I'm definitely putting in the right user name & password but it's not accepted. I tried to do a 'send password to alternate email address' thing but I get a page saying that the account cannot be found. I then tried setting up a new account using my current Yahoo ID but I got a message saying that it's not available.

Still can't access my account. I've tried from several machines as well. I'm worried now it's been compromised. I use it for all my ebay shop transactions as well as personal emails. it's been very convenient ..... until now. As I said, according to the password reminder there is no account with my name! This is weird.

I've recently had one of my yahoo accounts hacked too. Don't know how, but my password no longer works on it. Problem is when I registered I didn't use personal info so I can't easily verify my details.

This is what I'm worried about. But Yahoo! is saying (from when I do a password reminder) that an account doesn't exist with my name! I don't understand this. Obviously my account exists - I've been using it for years & I've used it to set up 2 Yahoo! Groups.

Weird! I'm at home now. I've botted up my PC & gone to my home page, which is Yahoo! I'm still logged into my mail from this PC & it's showing I have 3 emails ........... 4 now! But again, I click on 'mail' I'm prompted to enter my password & it is rejected!

I download my yahoo emails via pop3 and for a the last couple of weeks have been having problems. Emails I send often don't arriveuntil hours later and when downloading I won't get anything for ages and then get a load at once. It is getting annoying.

How do you do this? Can I download Yahoo! mail to Outlook for example?

Funny enough that's been happening to me as well. I'll get an email from ebay telling me an item has sold about 3 or 4 days after I've already processed & sent it off!! Also I would get new emails appearing days after my most recent emails had already been received & read. Something funny going on with Yahoo! maybe it is just a problem at their end but I'm still quite concerned it's been hacked.

IIRC you need to go into options in yahoo and enable pop3 access. It should also give you the yahoo mail server address for recieving and sending which you use to set up your client ie outlook. You can still access your account by webmail. You can choose in the client to download from yahoo and delete from the server or to just download and leave them on the server so they are available online.

Google mail also allows this. I have both yahoo and gmail accounts which I use 99% of the time via Opera's email client through pop3.

The delays aren't that long for me, usually just a few hours but it is annoying if you are trying to communicate with someone and not sure whether they are ignoring you or just haven't received your email yet.

I got an email from Yahoo! this morning to say that my password has recently been changed. I didn't do that so it seems someone has gained access to my account somehow & changed it! Bit worrying as I'm very concious of internet security & do my best to be vigilant with this sort of thing. Not vigilant enough I guess! :(

Heard back from Yahoo! I've now re-gained access, changed my password & my secret question. When I went into the 'my account' page I could see that the name had been changed as well as the postal code. Another alternative email address had also been added, which had not been verified. I have now removed this.
