Can't buy with Paypal through steam?

I don't think I can't wait for a hard copy of the orange box so I'm going to order it now.

I only have a Maestro card I've gotten to the transaction page, only to find I can use Paypal. Fine I thought, I've proceeded to the part where you click on "Begin Paypal purchase". When I click the button nothing happens :confused:

Has this happened to anyone? More importantly, how did you overcome the issue?

I've googled around and nothing :\

Not sure what could be causing it.

I do remember that I once stumbled across a web page regarding how IE had caused a few problems when FF was installed such as opening external links. IT was about resolving application based links.

I can't for the life of me find it again :\

I had this problem yesterday around 5pm ish when I tried to pay for my brothers account to have it(paid for mine last week), I later tried again at 10:45pm ish and it worked fine.

I paid with both accounts with paypal.

Try again later tonight

I had same problem to. So i just cancelled that one and tried again and it worked fine

Just add your debit card to paypal and use paypal to pay

When I click on the Paypal butting, nothing happens :\

Are you doing that through Steam? Because when I use paypal through steam, I click buy, and it asks my payment method, I select paypal and click next and it goes through the process etc.

No solution to your problem but I have never gotten paypal to work through steam either. I get as far as logging into paypal but then it tries to redirect back to steam to confirm the price I think, but nothing happens.

Hmm that's odd... have you tried contacting Steam?

You may have already solved the problem by now, but I would have thought it was because the default browser is having a problem to launch. Did you install the Safari beta? Use Fire Fox as your default browser, and that may fix the problem of the button not taking you to the paypal web site to log in for purchase.

I can't pay with paypal either, because I get the message "PayPal has reported an authorization failure" at the end of the transaction when I return to steam after logging in to Paypal. I have used paypal many times (24 verified) and never had a problem, and I even have credit in PayPal of over a hundred pounds. The only thing I can think of is that my IP address is weird because I am working in Thailand (and will be for the next 3 months). :cool:

Won't accept my credit card either. I rang the credit card company (Barclaycard), and they say they have not got any records of any failures and the card is good. They even put a note on the account saying that I may use my CC in Thailand in the next 3 months. It must be Steam checking that I have a UK IP address at the time of purchase because my home address in the UK. I guess the last thing I can do is beg valve to let me buy the orange box somehow buy putting a support ticket in. Damn paradise! :mad:

Any ideas to help me get this are welcome. I must have The Orange Box!
