If you want performance, CPU performance comes first for Arma3/Dayz.

Extra graphic grunt is only there to maintain the performance you have already got with the CPU at higher graphic details, it wouldn't help you push more frame rate beyond what's limited by the CPU.

I had a huge performance boost on ARMA3 adding a second 7950. Now I run a 7990 and it's smooth as butter, on a single 7950 there were obvious frame rate drops.

While server side and client side CPU performance IS a big deal, the GPU as well needs more grunt than a 7950 if you want to max those game at more than 30fps, especially at stock speeds.

Completely agree guys, sorry was a little tired last night and worded my post wrong I guess.

Adding another 7950 would have course increase fps in situations where gpu usage is high.

What I meant really was you still suffer the huge fps drops in the usual places, regardless of what card/s your using.

I've used 7970,280x cf7970, 270x, 290x and sli 780ti's.

You still want to OC your 3570K further as both DayZ and ArmA3 are both CPU intensive and somewhat poorly optimised.

A good GPU and a fast CPU will allow you to turn the graphics options up she so the game looks pretty and minimise the FPS when the game loads the CPU.

Just don't enable ATOC with an AMD GPU...

there is also performance bugs at moment with arma 3 engine which wont help.

you dont want to buy into 4k at moment too much money and you need atleast two top end cards or even 3.

wait a year min yet.

arm3 will be optimized as will dayz (for ps4) also servers have a massive performance affect sometimes.

No, your 3570K will have have no problems with either card, with the new cards just around the corner, personally I would wait to see whats on offer from both camps before you make up your mind.
