Cant decide what to get out of 9800 gx2, 8800 gtx/gts, 9600's or 9800 gtx

I was going to get 2x 8800 gtx's with the deal overclockers had, but now relise the price is quite high. Plus I would need to get a 780i board which is more expensive.

I have a 1000w psu, and really wanna play crysis on very high on my big screen tv. My brother plays it on very high with his gts, but I wanna put some AA on too.

So should I get

1x 9800GX2

2x 8800 GTS

1-2 8800 gtx (is it really worth the money)

2x 9600 gt's

or 1 9800 gtx?

So help me out guys, wanna order 2nite or 2moro

rest of the specs are q6600, 8gb of ram, vista ultimate 64.

well for a start 1 9800gtx is about the same as 1 8800gtx, actually not as good in some apps

For AA at a res higher than 16xx by 1xxx, i'd suggest no less than a GX2 or SLI'ed 8800GTS. The GX2 is roughly a two lower clocked 8800GTS, but the difference is marginal.

2x 8800GTX is you can get them on the cheap is also a good choice, as is 2x 9800GTX's as they are both roughly have the same performance too.

The 9600GT in SLI would struggle to give you framerates in Crysis with AA and Very High on everything.

It seems very playable and no slowdowns

Would have gone for the 2 gtx's but the deals are off and the prices are higher then a gx2. Plus more expensive mobo.

Get a GX2 so you're not limited to the crappy nVidia boards

Get a 8800GT now and upgrade to real next gen!! Forget about crysis
