I went to BMW yesterday to try and find a new car, sadly did not have any used 335i’s or Z4m’s. So I am going to try Germany next week.
I am really struggling to decide between the 335i and the Z4m coupe, anyone got any thoughts?

Is one better in the snow then the other?

Here is one of the Z4m’s that caught my eye

I also noticed a CLK55 in my price range however I think running costs are going to be a killer and I want something with a warrantee.

I really like the Z4M, sat in one at the motorshow and just loved how you were cocooned inside, which also means it won't be everyones cup of tea. Don't think you'll go wrong with either but I prefer the Z4M.

They are very different. You must drive both to decide. The Z4M is a more hardcore, hard edged drivers car than the 335i.

If you think the running costs of a CLK55 will be expensive, then with respect, why are you looking at Z4M's?

All 3 I suppose really fall into that bracket though... asides from parts and stuff I would imagine the 335 will be on almost the same bracket for running costs as the merc as well? asides from better fuel economy?

Well petrol is not a huge issue because it’s a company car so I get the VAT back and claim it a company expenses.

I was only concerned about the CLK because it is out of warrantee and I know that that Mercedes had quality issues in the past.

Both the 335 or Z4m will only be about a year old so I assume problem free and even if something comes up it would be covered.

Excluding petrol and insurance would the running costs really be that high?

a Sports version of the 335 couple or would that be an SE. If it is the later, Z4M, the standard SE coupe handling on the diesel I had was poo in comparison to the E46 Sports which is firmly planted without the drifting and unsuportive seats.

If buying a Z4M new from within the UK, and I would urge you not to do so, make sure you get a sizeable discount of no less than 8% off the list price. BMW are struggling to shift them as they have a bit of a growing reputation for loosing loads in a very short space of time and there are some very nice nearly new ones around for £10K off what the owner paid 3 to 4 months before!

The 335i is growing on me and I'm considering one myself in a few months. They look fantastic in black.

The Z4M has an infinately better driving position, and they are a hoot to drive. (Much more fun the an M3)

I to have been tempted by a couple of nice black SL 55's and 500's I've seen lately, the image is a little old for me yet though I think, and hopefully we will be needing four seats soon.

Bloody hell wish i was as rich as u.lol. what u do for a living? Can I ask why these 2 cars, they are totaly different realy bar the bmw badge or are you a bmw badge man? If you have a family then its a 335 and a couple its a z4m in my book no desicion nessacary

You would have to get out there and have a drive in each one of your possible choices. See which one suits you best. Even when you went to BMW and they had no cars you could test drive, try another day, another location. Take your time choosing the car and pick the best one thats for you.

They are both great cars and would'nt mind either of them. Id go for the Z4M personally though. A little more different than the 335i and they look fantastic in Imola Red :D

Yes they do, so does the 335i.

To me the Z4M is more of a drivers car. Little more hardcore and a little handful sometimes.

Coming from a TT Roadster, I think the Z4M is a good car to change to.
