Can't get hold of a GY Eagle F1 GS-D2?

I'm sure it is better, but I only need one. It won't match the opposite side basically, will that matter?

GS-D3 is a noticeably better tyre than GS-D2 and is the Eagle F1 of choice.

Not that its any indication of being better but the new asymetrics seem to be pretty expensive compared to the GSD3s. Any idea how these stack up ??

Absolutely no idea yet, not seen a trustworthy test featuring them.

You really should get a matching pair on the same axle, but I've used different tyres on the same axle and didnt get into trouble so long as you dont drive like a hooligan.

Thought as much, how different are the GS-D2 and GS-D3 treads?

I've got two Bridgestone RE040's in the garage, could put them on the front and have the two F1 GS-D2's on the rear? Wouldn't need to fork out £100 for a new tyre then... unless this isn't a good idea?

What car do you have?

If you've got the MGTF then it's a seriously bad idea to mix GSD2 and GSD3 tyres on the same axel as it leads to rather unpredictable handling

I think Goodyear themselves advise against mixing them on the same axel

I'd do that personally

Honda Civic.

Wonder if Kwik Fit will change the tyres round for free:p

Just noticed your sig :o

Nice car!

Not sure whether they'll swap them around for free as they'd need to rebalance the wheels surely? Shouldn't be much though!

I'm looking at getting a set of the eagle f1 gs-d3 tyres - but i don't actually know a great deal about them... are they considered to be a good tyre then?

Yep

Just had them fitted yesterday to replace my worn out Toyo Proxes T1-Rs on the front so I'll see how they compare!
Excellent - definitely keep me updated if you could as the T1-Rs were the tyres i was going to go for before i spotted the goodyears.

Yep, fully agree - but the previous owner had 4 x F1's fitted the week before I bought the car. I'll be going with RE040's all round next time.
