Cant make my mind up on these headphones ?

That's intriguing. Another member here also has the PC360's and HD555's. He bought the 360's to replace his ageing 555's, but he was very disappointed with them. He said the 360's just didn't sound as good, considering they are 2x the price.

PC360's manage to run my HD595's close, however X-Fi HD has an onboard amp; so perhaps PC360's require slight boost to fully work as intended? Happen to still own my former Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music soundcard; so I'll pop it back in later and see if any huge performance gap opens up between these headphones. :)

Just wondered if there was a difference with souncard?

I have Xtreme Music XFI card and just the PC160's but looking to upgrade. Would the 360's still be better or do I also need a change of sound card too?

Thought I'd chip in.

I have recently bought the Sennheiser HD558 which is the HD555 replacement. Previously, I owned Siberia V1, Sennheiser PC161 and Goldring DR150. Having used the HD558 for a few weeks now, I can say that they are better than all my previous headphones in pretty much 90% of all the stuff I use them for. The other 10% I am still unsure of - namely games like counter-strike where sound positioning is extremely important. For sound positioning, the Siberia V1 was better but that's probably because it lacks bass compared to the HD558 - the HD558 in other games definitely eclipses it though.

Movies, games and music the HD558 have been superb with my Xonar D1 for both stereo 2 channel audio and 5.1/7.1 Dolby Headphone (which I felt was always poor on the other headphones).

Also, I haven't tried modding them yet to HD598 which I still might do, or even tried it on an amp. So for me out-of-the-box they have been superb and have gotten even better the more I've used them to let the audio break in.
