Haha, that video is awful. The voice, him, everything.

Is it me or does it take a lot of paint off that door? I've never used any before so maybe this is normal...

Pigment from the paint being evident on the polishing bonnet is fairly normal, yeah.

What type of polish would be recommended for use with one of these polisher?
for £20 I'm considering one but with the exception of t-cutting scratches have never really done any full panel polishing.

With it being £20 I'd suspect it would break with any heavy usage.

Personally I'd just stick to using a sheepskin wool pad with some Lime Prime.

There is nothing wrong with a rotary, they get great results in experienced hands. If you're that concerned then pick up a scrap panel to practice on. Wool pads are up to 50% more abrasive than a foam pad so if you have fresh paintwork to polish then I wouldn't recommend it. If it's hard/aged paint then you may find you will need the wool one.
