Car damaged from hail storm, car insurance advice please?

Did anyone actually get injured in these hailstorms? Getting hit on the head with a hailstone that can dent bodywork like that wouldn't be pleasant.

When he hailed like that here I put my construction hard hat on and moved my car under cover before it got bad

Just had a call from my insurance company's assessor and he's written my car off due to the hailstorm damage.

Ouch, what's your car worth? How bad was the damage?

Mine got assessed last week, I'm awaiting the report from my insurers, in fact I'll chase them up.

Car is worth around £3800.
