Not mine thankfully ;)

I'm just after a bit of advice really as I'm not clued up on Golfs.

My mate's recently had a coming together with another car (long story and I can't be bother going into detail) and basically he's damaged the drivers front wing - just the wing amazingly! He's taking it in tomorrow to get it check out though.

The car's a MKIV Golf GTi (1.8T before anyone slates it :p).

Has anyone got a rough price for a new one sprayed and fitted? (the car is black).

He might also consider getting one from a scrappy, so a few questions if you would be so kind:

His is a 5 door, I'm guessing this won't make a difference, 3 door ones will fit?

I believe GTi front wings are different from other models, is that right?

How easy are front wings to get on and off the car?

And does anyone know a rough price for a straight one from a scrapy?

Oh and can anyone recommend any scappies in the NW area with lots of rear-end / passenger-side damage! :o

Any advice or links are appreciated, thanks :)

New wing wont cost a lot of money.

I'd imagine you'd be able to get a pattern part for no more than £50

Then add another £70-£120 to paint it.

I have a lot of experience with crash damage on the MkIV Golf. I bet the radiator has been damaged too as it is just tucked under the wing and the slightest of knocks means the garage will suggest a replacement, they were 74.50 last time I looked. Could easily be £500 by the time it is sprayed.

Intercoolers are int he wing also, one on lower tuned cars and both sides on the higher tuned ones. Well that's my knowledge of A3/TT's but I assume the golf would be the same?
