I've heard adding an older female as a named driver can bring the premiums down by quite a bit. Does anyone know if there any disadvantages to doing this? Would it negatively affect the named driver in anyway?

I added the old dear as a named driver on the 306 and it got knocked down by around £150

When I was driving on a provisional it was Churchill who were by far the cheapest. Once I passed my test the Admiral group gave me the best quotes. I'm now with Bell.

I was with MoreThan for the Polo, but they wouldn't give me anything near sensible for the 3.0l Z4 so I'm now with Admiral, for £800 at 23.

But I never look towards one company. When insurance renewal comes round its straight off to the comparison sites and phone the ones that don't list if I think they can offer anything better.

I'm pretty peeved at insurance companies right now. Cheapest quote for a new family car I'm buying, 407 2.0hdi '04 reg. With 4 years no claims, no convictions and no accidents in last 3 years. £980
Friend at work is a year older, one more years no claims and could insure it for £300

Anyone know any decent brokers to talk to see if they can figure out what the hecks going on with my quotes.

The admiral group are by far the cheapest for me, and it seems like I'll be sticking with them for many, many years to come unless other companies suddenly get there act together.

Sometimes I think their quoting software is glitched with some of the stuff it comes out with. I can't have a Lexus GS300 under 21, but I can have the more powerful, rarer GS430?.

Got a quote of just over £1000 as a 21 year old living in a part of London that is constantly on fire fully comp on a £25,000 Noble M12 GTO-3r... Actually, the same Noble with 352BHP and can knock out 0-60 in 3.7 can be insured for me as a 19 year old, fully comp for just £500 more than I pay TPFT for an old Toyota .
