Car insurance - what a chore.

Looks like my renewal with admiral will be around £1050 on a 10 month accelerator with 1 yrs NCB and 5 years driving (23 in Jul). Not bad considering.

I don't think the price you've received is that bad to be honest. I drive a 1.5dci megane and as main driver my insurance is just shy of £2,000 and I'm 22 had my licence for 4 years but only 1 NCB.

£2000  - I also have 1 years NCB along with holding my licence for 5 and a half years, and my 2.0 TDCi Mondeo (130) is fully-comp for just under £500 with an excess of £250!

I'm in the process of trying to do my insurance. My renewal was £1300 but going from unlimited mileage to only 7500! Crazy since I commute and do 20k a year. Best quote I've had so far is £850. I'm 31, 9yrs protected ncb but a claim 1.5 years ago in a not bad area, garaged.

Have you tried saying its not garaged? Saying its on the road can actually be cheaper. Is for me anway.

21 years old (license 3 years) no ncb on a Clio 182 would cost me 1k a year. Could be worse :p

Christ on a bike you guys fork out A LOT on insurance!
I'm 26 years old, driving 2 years and 2 years NCB and insuring a 325ti only costs me £600! Thibk I paid about £1200 in my first year driving a Golf. That said, my fiancé is 2 years younger than me and insuring her underpowered Z3 is still fairly scary - guess 25 is the magic age?

I also hate the renewal time, endless forms to fill out and calls to be made - total pita.

However getting from a £441 renewal price to a diff insurer for £240 all mods declared made it worth while ;)

Ouch, I'm 24 and pay £550 with 7 years driving and 6NCB. Fully Comp PNC the works for 316 BMW. When I had my older Rover 214 it was £350 all in and got my sister as a 2nd driver for + £90 for the year.

gah, paid £630 last year on my 330i with quotes of £800 for a 335D, this year paying £1350 despite having double the NCB :s insurance has gone up a fair amount :( :(

My brother just ensured my old Micra for £650. It was even fully comprehensive with him as the main driver.
He is 19, with no NCB, passed test at 17.

I genuinely have no idea how some of you get such stupidly high insurance prices, unless you live in the absolute roughest areas.

On my Yaris T-Sport my insurance is £1700, still a lot but expected as I'm 23, with 1NCB and 1 year experience. Soon to be 2 years. Wahoo.

Jesus Christ that is expensive!
