What's the best car kit for an iphone? Posted this in the apple section ages ago but didn't get many replies :p

The best you can get would be the Parrot MKi9200, however if you didn't want to spend the ~£220 for one of those, any of the 9 series would do the job.

The Parrot 9000 has iPod/iPhone support, but doesn't include a screen.
The Parrot 9100 has iPod/iPhone support, and does include a monochrome LCD display.

Take your pic, I'm 'in the know' as you might say ;)

pretty much every kit on the market will work with an iphone. Some will allow you to stream music from it and some won't.

The 9200 is, by far, the best option as it was specifically designed with the iphone in mind. Another contender would be the bury cc9060

The Parrot MKi9200 looks like a great product - I'm tempted!

However, according to the manufacturer's website it is "made for iPod & works with iPhone". That's just me being pedantic :)

The Parrot RKi8400 is "the car stereo made for your iPhone" - worth considering?

Is it recommended that the above products are fitted by an approved installer or is it pretty much a DIY job?
