No, he surprisingly found a lot in the local area so managed to view quite a few cars but was blown away by this one. He ran an HPI check, was able to haggle and was really happy with the condition.

328 with a 2.0L engine, wow, I must have been having a sharp day.

Saab 9-3 is a really good guess!

If you are buying your first car I'd imagine its very easy to get 'blown away' by the sort of executive car you'd find on a 2005 plate for just £2.5k :/

Hey OP, just out of interest did your brother go to KCL? I'm also in a similar position as your brother, finished my MPharm this year and will start pre reg soon in August. My plan right now though is to save as much as I can over the year, and hopefully after I get a permanent position, go for a simple BMW e46 for some RWD experience and then go for the 350z

Hey Chem, welcome to the forum! No he was at Demonford.

I bet it was fun being a student at KCL. I almost just signed up for a course there this year but they don't have any Electronics courses. Studying in London would be a laugh.

Thanks mate, wouldn't of said 4 years in uni was fun but yeah, looking forward to working now. What car did he end up getting then mate? I myself may be looking at getting the Lexus IS200, doesn't look like a bad car and given my experience with "hot" hatches (....998cc Pug 106, 998cc Micra :cool:

, although I did drive my dads Altezza RS200 for a year) I'm sure 153bhp for me right now is plenty fast!

He took the sensible route for now and decided to save cash for something 'fun' later. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't surprised, guess my idea of "executive" is a little different, but still think he made the clever choice.
