Ok so my car tax is up tomorrow, hoping to change my car by Wednesday.

Is it ok to leave it for that length or time, or will I be in trouble?

Just to save me forking out £68 or so for 6 months tax..

i belive they won't automatically send you a fine untill 30 days after, but if your caught without tax you can be fined instantly

not unless you register it off road and keep it off road ,SORN needs to be filled in,you will be flagged up on there computer and issued a fixed penalty notice .
I left mine outside when i bought it from auction and went for the tax when i came home a nice traffic warden had slapped a notice on costing me another £50 and even though i had taxed it that day they would not let me off, nice people ??
best of luck

You won't be sent an automatic fine until 14 days have passed. However, if the car is caught being driven (ANPR systems) or parked on the road then you will be fined.

As chronicled by me on my thread on this subject, I realised on the 14th day of the month that I'd not bought tax, did it online (as I have a new style MOT) and no ones said anything :)
