Car using oil still....any ideas? (some legal advice too please)

As a comparison Tom, my old mans 528i is near 250k, he currently puts no more than a litre in it between services.

Something can't be right there as you see..... :(

I'd be looking at the refund route if possible, but how your going to convince the garage, I don't know.

OMG

They've FINALLY listed my old car, its been with them for 2 months

O/T but WOW! check out the condition of the 300E they have listed, not bad for the mileage & year...

Well the dealers use SLX Longtec but yea, we buy it as Edge. I telephoned the supplying dealer who told me they'd always used SLX Longtec 0w30, and my local dealer uses it as well, so thats what I use.

Isn't 0w30 only used for longlife service?

Sorry I spoke! :(

It's ok he's just jealous that an older engine burns less oil:p

Even my Astra tdi used a max of one litre between oil changes (20K) and everyone of my own cars (being a lot older) have never used as much oil as BMW seem fit that they should consume in the 3 litre fitted to Toms and others..

Hope you get it sorted soon Tom, you don't seem to have much luck at all concerning cars:(
