Card to play minecraft for my nephew.

Sorry I should have said that it was pci-e. Unfortunately the card he has at the moment is below the minimum spec for minecraft and as a result gets (with optifine) 1 - 2fps.

You mean recommended spec right? the only PCI-E card I can think off offhand that would be below the min specs is the FX 5200.

*EDIT*

Didn't see the or Radeon 7xxx and up bit after the GF3 bit. I now know you mean recommended as no Pci-E card has ever been made that didn't meet the min specs.

That kind of thinking will have you miss out on a game that has sold in excess of 10million copies across three separate formats. Not every game needs to have uber gfx to be good you know.

just because in excess of 10 million other people have machines so poor they have to resort to playing this rubbish doesn't mean the rest of us have to though either *hehe*

sorry, couldn't resist

p.s. why is the filter on the forum so overzealous that I can't write a word beginning with S that means small laugh

My laddie plays Minecraft on a 9600gt so it doesn't need much.

im playing it with an onboard amd 4290 since my dedicated gpu died

the same settings but only 40fps as oposed to the 100 i got with a gtx460

it doesnt feel quite as smooth when moving around its almost like theres lag i guess from the memory speeds of onboard gpus beeing so poop.

but it shows minecraft doesnt really use the gps much at all
