It's a common trait with Mini's to trash the rear plate. They get very filthy very quickly at the rear (due to the shape, and the very close proximity of the wheels to the very back of the car).

My dad's two "S" have both had to have new numberplates a few times.

What other reasons are there?

Colour choice is only really based on one of two things- Preferance and re-sale value and I can't see that shade of blue effecting the latter. Personally I would happily own a MCS in that colour.

When electric blue was an MCS only colour I could see its appeal (we had one in electric blue), but since the facelift when it was added to the standard colours list, it lost its charm.

Grey for the win on MCS now.

Wifes choice on the colour, it's what she wants to drive around in.

Number plate is shabby i know, not too worried about that.
