My uni's end of year event is having a casino this year, but unfornately its one of those ones where you can only win "prizes" instead of taking money from the dealers/other poker players. I'm guessing you need a tempory gambling license or something and this is why? but what annoys me is that my Uni have a habit of having prizes like...

A 6 pack of fosters
Coupons at nandos or some other stuff i can get in the back of the local paper. How cool would it be to have a real casino there?

Anyone else had a company/Uni casino event where it wasn't "for profit" ?

I've been to quite a few of these, and yeah they always have monopoly money (or something like it). They give you £1000 or whatever at the start, and the peope with the most by the end of the night win the prizes. The prizes are normally pretty decent though, especially at a big ball. I remember weekends to Paris, Ipods, that sort of thing.
