TOURING CAR STAR AT ‘DAY OF THE CHAMPIONS’

One of the UK’s most successful British Touring Car Championship stars, Anthony Reid, will be giving members of the public the ride of a lifetime at the annual Stroke Association ‘Day of the Champions’ at the Castle Combe Circuit on Saturday October 27.
Reid, a BTCC Masters Champion and veteran of Le Mans and various other international racing categories is one of a number of drivers offering their services at this annual event supported by Bristol SEAT.
For a donation of between £30 and £50 the public will be able to ride in a variety of race and rally cars, some of which are regularly in action at the Wiltshire track on it's race days.
The event has raised considerable sums for the Stroke Association charity over the years with many celebrity drivers featuring at the event in various historic and modern machinery.
The day starts at 9:00 AM and carries on till dusk.
General admission is £5 for Adults and Free for Children, with free parking too.

I've seen a copy of the drivers list and heres a very short snippet of it:
Metro Turbo's, 205 GTi's, Golf 20v Turbo, Evo, Westfield's, Caterham's, M3's, 911's, five Radical SR3's, Ferrari 355 328 348 456 575, Ultima Spyder, Marlin's, E-Type Jag, Ariel Atom, Corvette, AC Cobra, Elise's and more...

So yea, there's plenty of interesting cars you can get rides in, and its supporting a very worthwhile charity!

Dislaimer: I'm not an employee of CC or the Stroke Association, so am not making any 'profit' from this plug!

It was a good day but hardly anybody there. Shame really as it was all for a good cause.

My friend went out in a 348 which he loved and I got some good pics too and a chance to play with my new camera.

Some great cars on the track. The Metro Turbos were pretty rapid. Aeril Atom is such a cool car too.

E-Type jag is pretty rare, also saw one on the way so 2 E-Types in one day is a new record for me!

Decided not to go in the end. Did you get any good photos? :)

Yes a few but still getting to grips with the camera and it's array of settings. Forgot to change the ISO setting so some are a bit naff. Will get a few up tomorrow.

I went, Dad was meant to be driving the Westfield but it killed its gearbox a month ago so he wasn't driving, and we only stayed till lunch.
Still managed to play around with the 300mm IS and looks like some shots came out well.

By the time we left, the Westfields had no paying punters, and Chris hadn't even done any practice laps in his Ultima! Shame about the weather really, this is now the 13th year at Combe and it's rained for the last 3, but Nick was still doing a grand job on the mic gathering up what punters there were!

You see the radicals out there? Could see there aero-dynamics working in the spray coming off the spoilers.

Racing line wasn't so wet in the afternoon so can't recall loads of spray on the SR3's.

As soon as the car's ventured off of the line the fun started though
