Cat C Bike

what happened to the Akra?

the guy I kept asking said next week ill make some link pipes up,been saying that for months so im still waiting on that,if I cant get one made ill just sell it on,the arrow one is louder than the akro so ill probably stick with the arrow now (the original akra link pipe is £160 odd pound and im not spending that much on it)

Looks nice with the sticker I think.

yeah I might grab one but ill stick it over the strap aswell so it looks all in one,the strap cuts right through the centre of the sticker

Ah shame. I know they're not cheap. Is the Arrow GP2 a straight through system or do you still have the cat in there?

its straight through yeah,de catted(de collector box) it aswell:D,its the link pipe that gets rid of the cat,no baffles in it either

im trying to keep the part spend as low as I can

How much do you think you've spent total now?

I know you've got it back to working order but it seems as though it is turning into a bigger project now with new exhausts, brake lines, rear lights, HIDs ;) ;)

After seeing your green brake lines I want some so bad. Might have to put them on the x-mas list from the GF ha!! I think like you suggested, the white would look good.
Did your brake lines come as a complete kit with the washers and stuff to fit or were they a separate buy.

yeah the came all new complete with stainless bolts and copper washers, get some in red they look the biz:D EDIT or white haha

I think I spent around £3500 getting it all repaired,i bought it for £3100 +£120 delivery,the smashed fairings/replacements were £300 (side/top/right hand bellypan/headlights)

then with all the extras like lights/exhaust/brake lines/tail tidy im waiting on I reckon around £3750-£3800 all in

which isn't too bad considering its only done 4281 miles

I took a big risk though,if the frame had of been bent I would have been screwed:( I think I got lucky tbf, whatever its hit it looks like its glanced of it and not done too much damage, the biggest damage was the tab on the fork leg snapped off,the rest was a case of unbolt/bolt on new parts and a little plastic welding

I think id buy a cat c again though or a cat d as cat d its only cosmetic, you can still save a lot over an undamaged machine

helps going to look at the bike aswell, give it a real good going over

(just wish mine was white, they look awesome in white)

tail tidy arrived today so test wired everything up,whoever had the tail tidy has wired the led indicators too short,im gonna have to solder lengths of wire on them to make it easier

the flash rate seems ok to me?

Yeah,seems OK

Integrated tail light was only £10 from China,be decent if it lasts,I might solder on some connectors so I can either have it all working like in the vid or disconnect/remove the external indicators

Looks good but I'm not sure how clear it is from a distance to the average Joe in a car which direction you will be indicating.

Very clean looking though, I do like. This thread just makes me want to spend money I don't have on Lucy haha.

It looks more distinct further away,to me anyway

You should spoil Lucy for Christmas,I've spoiled my grotbags rotten

I just used a jam jar half filled with brake fluid, and a suitable length of clear pipe that will fit really tight over the bleed nipple, then the other end of the pipe remains submerged under the fluid in the jar

Then pump the lever to build up pressure and open a quarter turn the bleed nipple till to lever reaches full travel/hits the bar, then close the nipple and rinse repeat until you see no air bubbles coming out and the lever becomes firm, all the time keeping an eye on the fuid reservoir and not letting it run dry

No real need to buy a bleed kit but up to you really

Pop in a local tropical fish shop and ask for a metre of air hose, its a tight fit but works perfect
