and soldered up the two cut wires,

yeah im worried abou that, theres a chap who does all that kind of stuff not far from me,does disc/wheel/fork straightening

im gonna ring him Monday and see what he says,be best if he can dismantle the fork and weld it back on,depends on the price

second hand pair is £350

cant do anymore, waiting on some abba fittings so I can get the front up in the air and forks out,£20 for two tiny pieces of metal

spoke with the fork guy he said he can weld it on but cant give a price till he see's the forks

waiting on a rear brake lever from china, plastic welded the ram air scoop for the time being, its unsightly but its up and underneath so im hoping it wont be too visable

sprayed the bar end and lever, also need a new bolt for the engine casing as it wore the head off when it slid on the ground/ground through the bellypan

also need rear pillion peg idk why that's missing as its on the good/undamaged side

yeah it starts runs great

fi light keeps flashing idk why yet, might go out with a long run

EDIT: I have a new/secondhand top and right side fairing waiting to go back on after I get the forks checked out

You have to re apply for the log book I found out aswell, dvla withhold it when it's written off,its free for a cat c,but cat d you have to pay a £25 fee

I'm waiting for the new logbook to come

Edit: the cost for parts at the dealers is ridiculous, wanted £44 just for a rear brake lever,I got one all the way from China for £11,I was too scared to ask for a new fork leg,the shock would have been too much

That's what's getting bikes written off so much, silly manufacturers parts prices

Yeah I like the m4 aswell, plus it let's you de cat the exhaust

I'd love a full akro but just to expensive for me

I want a tail tidy and a hid lighting kit aswell

EDIT: I wanted to ask you benji, when you turn off your ignition do you hear any twitch of the exhaust servo under the seat? I don't on this bike but my zx10r would,it would return to original position

just wondering if that's the cause of the flashing fi light

got the forks out today, rolled them on the kitchen worktop and I cant see any bend in them but needs an experts eye

probably drop them off tomorrow

I havnt looked yet,I know there's a bike down sensor it could be that

Seems a bit if a faff diy code pulling but I'll try and see what it entails first

Idk might keep it might sell it on

It's too clean to ride year round on,so I'll use my current 600 for winter

Edit: it was something I've always wanted to do,fix up a crash damaged machine, and see how much money I could save over an undamaged one

it owes me £3500 so far with the bike and the parts ive needed

they sell for between £4500-£5200 same year/mileage undamaged

dropped the forks off today waiting now to hear from them

yeah it will always be a cat c bike,

it depends how heavy it is on fuel for a daily commuter,if its not too bad ill keep it,i don't think ill lose any money on it though

yeah I get roughly 44mpg on my 98 model

so if it can do around that i'll be happy

EDIT: was missing a fair few bolts and fasteners aswell,i think whoever assessed the damage forgot to put half the fixings back in,got most of the bolts now just need one that holds the seat on

Yeah, the kit comes from the states, its a plug and play system so should be straightforward but I'll do a step by step guide when I get it

no I wish,i think it was introduced on the 2012 models onwards

ordered the hid kit,i nearly fell for the zx6r specific kit, found a much cheaper uk based car kit which should fit the same as its h11 bulb fitment £20 for both lights all in

also picked up a second hand r&g radiator guard, paint is peeling a little at the bottom but ill soon spray it up,bargain for £29

spent a bit of time with a paintbrush and very fine garden wire, and dug out all the encrusted flies/bugs out of the radiator, looks far better

hpi means no finance owing on it? it will always remain a cat c,think you have to declare it aswell if you sell it on
