cat is probably constipated, give it 30 mins for it to dump its load.....
I know I have more money than you, because the thought of shelling out less than a tenner a month for pet insurance doesn't send me running to balance my outgoings against my income. Seriously, is the cost that prohibitive? If so, you definitely shouldn't have gotten the cat.

If the cat isn't worth a tenner a month to you (which I'm fairly sure is less than it costs to feed said cat), then presumably when it becomes ill you're going to kill it as you can't afford the bills. If the thought of that upsets you, buy the insurance.
If you don't care about the death of your pet, it's hard to describe the rage I feel as clearly as Scuba has. May the more insane animal activists burn your home to the ground.

Insurance is nice in case you get a £1500 vet bill - my parents had this on the second day of getting a kitten home. If you have any sense you'll get insurance. The last thing you want is to have to watch your cat being put down because you can't afford medical care.
To be completely accurate. You are better off without insurance, on average across a huge population size.
And the chances are you'd be better off across your whole life without any insurance at all.
Insurance is only useful where the event you insure against is unaffordable. For example you cannot afford to pay off your mortgage in full if you were to die at 35. When it comes to pet insurance as long as you are happy to fork out £1K+ for treatment or put the cat down without a care then it's perfectly fine not to have insurance.
Indeed for large corporations it's better for them not to have insurance. Instead they set aside a small amount of money instead of each premium and the net result is it costs less. For example a very large organisation may not insure all their buildings against burglary.

I presume she has had all her jabs as well? A lot can be given from when they are 8 weeks old. Oh, and fleas love a nice kitten to munch on so I would look at what options there are with a kitten.

I think she's too young to be pregnant. If she has a big belly and she was pregnant, she'd have had to have been pregnant a while, and young cats don't tend to come into season during the Winter. She'll come into her first season in the Spring.
