Ceramishield Ceramic Sealant

Yep, I think it would have cost 350 to do it in london, ppl seem to be willing to work for a lot less up here in Sheffield, if you need a contact number for him let me know.

sent you an email. It is but I can see it getting expensive if I go to london and back every week.

We have a 1200 mile road trip to Scotland planed this weekend which should be fun!

Every one of my cars goes to my friend to have the clear film put on. 3M is thicker than some and doesn't possess the self healing characteristics that the XPel ultimate has. Also, the 3M cannot cover the whole bonnet on most cars, their rolls of film aren't wide enough, another reason I prefer the Xpel.

Generally I have xpel ultimate on the bonnet, front bumper, mirrors and front wings. If you need a tougher film then 3M is a fine choice but it possesses a lot more orange peel, cannot cover large panels and cannot self heal scratches in the sunlight.

Xpel is great stuff, I use it a lot.

What was the cost of the Ceramishield again?

Sonax do a great sealant called Polymer Net Shield (PNS). There's some good reviews over on Detailing World and it's cheap to order from CYC at around £13 for a unit. That'll do the car 3 times at least.

Then top that up with Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer (BSD) every other wash. BSD is getting rave reviews from many on DW as it acts more like a sealant for 6+ weeks than a Quick Detailer. When it costs £13 for a 750ml spray bottle or ~£40 for a 5L can, you can understand why it's getting soo much attention. Just go look at the beading pictures

I'm picking up the above to keep my new M135i looking pretty and protected!

Post a product name, all 1/2 word, then run away..... Reeeeeally Helpful!

Save your money and rather than get these fancy expensive coatings, pickup the Sonax bits which do the same job, for a lot less and give you a lot more in the packaging ;)

Thanks for the link, I will take a look.

It costs around £200 for the Ceramishield.

I am being offered Max Protect for £175 per car (need to do 4 cars)

Some more info on Gyeon Quartz.

Q² PHOBIC is a highly advanced top-coat, developed especially to be applied on ceramic paint coating. It gives hydrophobic effect, increases the self-cleaning abilities, extends durability and prevents the coating from water spots in its first few weeks after application.

Is that for just the coating liquid itself or for it to be applied to 4 cars?

I don't suppose you know of any tests into these and other products showing long they last after a number of months, that goes out to everyone on here?

I'm sure these fancy coatings are great, but they are very expensive for what they are when a decent sealant and Sonax BSD as above will keep your car protected, water sheeting and cost relative peanuts in comparison.

Apply an amazing sealant twice a year, use the BSD every so often and get the same result.

I'm more interested to hear how the original ceramishield treatment looked nearly two years later.

Good point. I sold the car on so I dont know but the next time I see it I will take a look.

Thats the cost to do a full detail including the coating, about 8 to 9 hours per car so the coating is really only an extra £30 ish pounds.

Not too bad tbh, as long as you know how good the detailer is?

I wouldn't bother with such a fancy product tbh if you don't mind doing it yourself twice a year. Doing a full detail on the cars yourself will take a fair amount of time and cost you enough in products/accessories, but £175 per car for a decent job with a good sealant isn't bad at all.

Definitely look into the Sonax Brilliant Shine detailer, as (going from all the feedback) it'll be perfect for added protection after the odd wash and can last 6weeks+

It's a cheap way to keep the car protected and only adds a little extra time at the end of a wash.
