More of the same from this bunch of numpties.

Tax, spend, waste.

Every budget is the same, more cash taken, more cash spent, more cash wasted.

:)

Correction- every Labour budget is the same - I just cannot bare to think how much money they have poured down the drain for very little benefit.

Dont fuel prices change anyway more or less weekly???

Yes but thats because of the changing price of Oil. What they are saying that it will now cost an extra 1.25p per litre whether the oil price changes or not so basically a stealth tax.

Sorry all I have to say this, ever heard of the "polluter pays principle"?

Petrol tax up -> Less pollution -> people priced out -> demand for cheap alternatives increses = less poluting transport available (use public transport, ethanol, electric etc)

Schoolboy economics a la Mr Adam Smith.

Still, don't trust Mr Brown either myself

Petrol tax up -> No change in pollution since people have to drive -> Demand for cheaper alternatives = Trains and buses are still overpriced and unreliable.

Corrected.

Did you know it cost me ONE QUARTER AS MUCH in fuel to drive from Coventry to Brighton (half of England) with one passenger than it would do taking a train. Yeah public transport is real appealing.

What does piracy have anything to do with the budget? Im confuzzled; it seems very out of place.

Less people buying DVD/Music = Effects the Economy hence its in the budget.

Thats MPA/RIAA/BPI talk there :p Please show me some evidence citing the relationship between piracy and diminishing entertainment sector returns? In particular, how the law suit actions deterring piracy in the USA have caused a massive boom in sales?

It's an odd sort of stealth tax that they announce in a televised report...

Wow. I thought it was only Gordon Brown who actually believed this kind of thing is true.

Wait a minute......Gordon? Is that you? :D

Surley that varies with the number of passengers on the train? At what capacity is that figure worked out?

It works both ways though, I would rather catch the train to work than drive through cental london, probably using far more fuel than a train and doing the journey in a 3rd of the time with far lest cost!

Ninja Edit: Och noooo it's neee weee old me
