I want out of the office environment. And quick.

I fell into it straight out of college, and have never considered anything else. So what else could I do? Am pretty much open to any suggestions right now, got nothing to lose :)

Ok, yes I praise the 9-5 for having all my nights and weekends free, but my god, I don't want to be doing this all my life. Its soul destroying :(

Anyone else been through similar? What did you do? And what do you do now?

I know the feeling very well - I've had several jobs and still don't know what I want to do with myself....I'm considering going to university in September to either do some kind of NHS course or something to do with computers but I'm so indecisive!

I am looking at 20k minimum, good point well made ;)

You can easily start on 21k as a qualified teacher. Most schools work on a payscale from what I've seen so far (current trainee teacher :)) and the base on that is 21k from what I remember seeing. Someone feel free to correct me though :)

what is your current job exactly?

Any qualifications?

This.

Mudlogger or roustabout :p

Would help to know what you do and are interested in.

If it's IT based (purely because you said an office and you are on this forum) then you could do worse than looking into the Oil industry. Offshore or abroad work means you work hard for 4-6 weeks but get weeks off at a time and good money.

Office work is a pretty broad church, I don't know if you've already changed company within your current field to test out other places but who you work for can make a huge difference.

What sort of qualifications do you have?

I went from Agricultural engineer to Royal Marine to welder to steel erector to laptop / dyno tuning racecars. :o

I think the best advice anyone can give you is from Confucius

Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life.
