Hi everyone,

Wonder if anyone can offer any advice.

I have a Asus A520M-A motherboard with a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU.
RAM is Vengeance DDR4 3600
GPU is an RTX 3080

Like an idiot I decided to try changing the memory timings, clearly did something wrong and now I can't get an image on the PC.

I have done the following:

Cleared CMOS
Removed battery...waited and then cleared CMOS.
Removed battery...waited, fitted a switch and then cleared CMOS
Removed one stick of RAM, removed both sticks of RAM
Tried booting with no CMOS battery

I have fitted a mini speaker to the board and the odd thing is now the single speaker beeps which to me would signal a post, but no image.
I would try onboard graphics and bypass the GPU but the Ryzen 3600 doesn't have any.

Any ideas would be hugely appreciated! I may have bricked the board, but hopefully not.

Does anyone know if it's possible to update the board https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-a520m-a/ with a new BIOS straight from USB?

Many thanks

Adam

Hi,

I sadly don't have a jumper, so I fitted a power switch which was across the two pins.

I disconnected the power last night and then retried this morning. I originally tried resetting the CMOS by bridging the two with a screwdriver, but that didn't work so tried the switch.

The board is actually this one, sorry wrong link earlier https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-a520m-k/

Hi everyone,

Good news I managed to get the PC to post last night

Thank you all for advice.
Bad news it was the GPU! Been a troublesome card since I have had it.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a GPU repair place?

Sadly I bought it second hand, so no warranty. I have already had it repaired one, the memory modules seem so unstable on it! Previous owner clearly dropped it and been a pain in the bum since.
