Misses wants to get a hornby train set for the sisters son (nephew?)

He wants a virgin type one which is £100 in toysrus and hornby.com any sites where its cheaper. Have tried froogle etc but no real ideas of shops.

Checked on the bay? Quite popular for selling model trains.

I just had a look on the 'bay as well. You can get some older sets (especially just the train, no track) quite cheap, though I'll wager the young lad is after the new Pendolino though. Saw just the train for £95 on ebay, or £130 with track and controls and stuff.

you won't get much discount wherever you buy, hornby tends to hold it's value very well.

You could try ebay, there's lots of traders selling brand new items.

Alternatively the "box shifters" with the best prices are usually Rails of Sheffield (http://railsofsheffield.com/default.aspx) and Hattons (http://www.hattons.co.uk/).
