Showing pics of your fave modern supercar isn't really gonna cut it...

The fact is the Esprit Turbo, or even an S3 V8, would outperform EVERY one of the cars Top Gear chose as they were all sheds on wheels...

Maybe the Esprit was cheap, but there is no doubt it was a budget supercar.. heck even 007 drove one... thats proof enough for me

wasn't the esprit the fastest and mose expensive 4 cylinder car in the world at the time?
i do think it was a bargain considering the performance and the drive it gives it's owner.

No but didnt this thread come to the conclusion a car needed status and to be rare to be a supercar?

A 997 turbo....thats not a supercar to me,the 959 on the other hand could be considered one because its so rare,fast and is quite exclussive. I aint ever seen one about here.
 
Where do I say anything about rare? Some people may have said rare, but it isnt a conclusion... E-Type jag is rare now, but not a supercar... a british sports car... MGB same...

I just said that an M5, Supra and a few others arent supercars, they are just everyday sports cars...

A Skyline can be a supercar, but certainly not stock... NSX is a supercar, not really rare tho, or massive performance...

Mecedes SL isnt, Mclaren SLR is...

Most people don't need to be told what a supercar is, but one thing we can say for certain, there isnt many 4 door saloons that are..

However, I do agree that the Mclaren F1 is the finest supercar ever made

now to me, the esprit doesnt look out of place in that picture which to me says a hell of a lot. so i say yeah its a supercar as it can hold its own in looks and its non to shabby on performance. :)
