*****CHEAPEST 1.5TB HDD in the UK - Seagate 1.5TB LP HDD Only £44.99 Delivered!*****

Hi,
I've only had this drive a couple of weeks and i'm getting an error in System Machanic Pro's realtime hard drive status tool,it's giving me a warning on the "seek error rate" and a warning means something is about to fail but hasn't yet.

I did hear some random clicks recently only one at a time and windows sometimes never gets past the logo screen after a cold boot or restart (fresh install btw)..

What do you think about this and what do i do?

What firmware does the drive have? version CC35 fixes the clicking issue

Sorry if i've posted in the wrong place..how do i check the firmware?

EDIT: just found out i have CC34,i enter the serial number 9XW09RSC
but the seagate download app say's there isn't an upgrade availiable?

Just found a link describing that the Seagate detection tool dosn't detect an upgrade so there's the option of "forcing" the upgrade..seems a lot of hard work IMO.

Quote "Seagate do not recommend these drives in anything other than “Desktop RAID”, meaning RAID 1 or 0 between two disks only" now i only have one running as my C: drive?

It say's private when i click on that section ;)

Google the drive model number and CC35, you should then be able to download the firmware. From what I have read on the internet the CC34 firmware can actually damage the drive over long periods of use.

Installed new CC35 Firmware via iso and all seem's to be ok..thank's for your help and mod's feel free to delete this, unless you'd like others to know how to solve it ;)

OcUK advwertised these as having 1year warranty.
And as we all know within the initial 12months contact supplier.

If not SoGA, goods not as described.

Yes you send these back to OcUK as they are SI/OEM 1yr drives so the warranty is with ourselves, think thats just a mistake by our returns department. :)

Its also always within your rights to return back to the supplier if you wish, though sometimes dealing with manufacturer can be quicker and smoother. Still on this occaison OcUK deal with the warranty. :)
