I'm looking to build a cheap media PC and I want it small as possible, so M-ITX is the way to go, the prices for ION motherboards though are more than for a non-ION board + card and if it wasn't for the fact I want a soundcard in my system I'd go down that route. Wondering if there is an ION mobo out there cheaper than the above combo, or if not if there is board with an Atom CPU and 2 PCIe slots? Just trying to explore possible avenues before I commit.

Have a look at the Zotac G41ITX its a mITX board with socket 775 at about £60 so you can put a cheap old Core 2 Duo in there. Features include onboadrd Gigabit Lan, DVI, HDMI, 6 channel audio, 6USB, 1 Esata, 3 Sata, wireless n adapter. Only has 1 PCI-E x16 but with the onboard features you could just choose either better sound or graphics card and live with the other option. Im looking to use one myself its the best cheap board ive found with that kind of feature list, quite tricky finding a mITX 775 board with PCI-E let alone 2. Shame OCUK doesnt do it, currently the mITX range here is not great.

Members market normally has a few cheap C2D CPU's for around £20-£30 to put in the board.
