Hi guys.

I'm taking some time out of employment and will probably end up going self employed in a couple of months!

So I handed back to keys to my £35k 59 Plate E250 CDI Sport Saloon yesterday and am now without transport!

I have agreed to purchase a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 - I will be picking this car up tomorrow, and I have been shopping for car insurance and I'm not happy with the cheapest quote I can find.

So I would like to pick the car up and spend the rest of tomorrow shopping for more insurance quotes.

So here is my need for temporary insurance, I had tried the likes of Dayinsure and Daycover etc and they seem to have gone up quote a bit since I last used them!

Are there any others I should be aware off?

Thanks

Dayinsure are still among the cheapest so you probably wont get a much better deal.

Good pricedrop on the Merc tho, YOU ARE SOOO COOL MAN SWEET RIDE. Shame it doesn't really count if its not your car :p I guess 'My £35k MERC' sounds more impressive than 'I handed back my demonstrator'.

Unless you left under a cloud surely somebody at your ex-dealership could pick up and drop it off for you as a favour using trade insurance? That would give you plenty of time to shop for insurance at your leisure.

The car is in Edinburgh so it would cost my old workplace about £200 to have it collected, it's cheaper for me to get the train there and drive it back.

Obviously it's not my car that I had to hand back, but still doesn't change the fact that I have handed back a really nice car to getting a crap one!

For now at least.

Times are hard and dealers might have to be letting some of their staff go by choice at first and by force later?
i'm on a mailing list for a job web site here in belgium and every day there are adverts for car salesmen or people within the dealership business.
i'd go for it but my french and dutch aren't good enough :(

and i don't really want to be selling skodas :p

Company is recruiting now for two replacements, like I said in earlier post I'm thinking of going self employed.

Got quite a bit of money saved and low outgoings as I sold my house and now live with my gf in a smaller place so don't have to rely on a good wage.

So best chance at it now really!

i can see it now, "Maz's Mercs" :D

seriously though, best of luck :)
and in answer to your OP, dayinsure
