To die by your side......
Was just having a conversation with my dad, wondering if it is cheaper to live in a hotter climate, no heating, less clothes etc. Obviously you still need to live in a country that has good infrastructure. I thought California, but my dad said no because you then have a/c costs instead. South of France possibly, but even they can get bad winters. I thought Monaco, but then, in the winters they have rallies that are very dangerous due to ice, so obviously need heating.

My dad said there is a spot just a bit north from Mt. Snowdon, which apparently has the lowest rainfall in the UK. I lol'd at the prospect of Wales being an acceptable place to live.

Anyone know the cheapest/best place to live?

Two places I'd love to live mentioned there in the OP; the South of France and Cali. The rain is just so annoying in this country.

The cheapest places usually tick off a few of these points: lack of infrastructure, lack of economic prosperity, poor development/living standards or poor climate.

If you're out for cheap in the world, think Thailand. If you're out for cheap in the English speaking world, think a remote village in Aus/US...or that's what I'd guess at.

Ooo, never thought about Australia lol.

and for a reason

would you like to work in 45 degrees heat and have to use AC pretty much all year round ? great place for a holiday or even too retire too but i wouldnt want to work there

just live somewhere cold but constantly wear 10 layers of clothes to save on heating

Southern California Central Coast is the perfect climate for being skint, it barely rains, doesn't get stupid hot nor does it get stupid cold. It's why there's tons of homeless people in SoCal - couldn't be a better place to be homeless so may as well make your way there :p

It's also the world's fifth largest supplier of food and agriculture commodities, so if you're good at nicking stuff out of fields you should have no problem in eating :p
