Hello,

My dad wants to buy a new satnav for his car, as his Navman F20 west europe died and he can't be bothered waiting 4 weeks for repair.

Budget is upto 300 € I guess, perhaps more but only if the nav is rly good.
He was looking @ the Garmin Nuvi or something for 190€ inc whole europe on the SD.
My dad wants to have western europe and Poland.

So he needs:
A decent brand ( I told him to only look @ Tomtom & Garmin ) & good build quality, prefferably some device that doesn't go fubar when it drops accidently.
Prefferably up to date maps.
Speed camera locations etc & customizable poi.
At least western europe + Poland, other eastern european countries are a welcome bonus.

He'd also like:
Traffic jam information.
Usb cable that is easy to connect up when driving, with his old navman he flipped out the sd card while trying to connect the usb cable god knows how many times.
Clear screen that stays readable without effort in the sun.

Any suggestions?
Is the garmin he looked @ a good deal and is it a gd device?

Well that's the most important new feature he needs I'm afraid, he's regurally driving to Poland, he could wait 4 week I guess if he didn't want to have Poland but his old nav stops @ the German-Polish border :(.

It's a bit over his budget, isn't there anything cheaper?
Is there anything wrong with the garmin?

Why is the tomtom double the price of the Garmin nüvi 250 Europe ?

My dad's going to buy (pickup) a garmin nuvi 250w europe navigation for 215 € ( 150 quid) on monday, anything wrong with this model and/or price before he goes buy to buy it?
