Cheapish sim free smartphone

Looking for a reasonably cheap smartphone for my girlfriend as she's sick of her lg viewty.
Just looking for something to use to run out the end of her contract and preferably something running Android!

How do you define cheapish?

Here's the cheapest Android phone that I know of. It's a T-Mobile PAYG job so may well be locked to them.

The Pulse is a decent choice. Perhaps also the Nokia 5800 - about £190 sim-free or £160 on PAYG.
