At the moment, driving is conducted in these babies:

I look a bit of a div getting out of the car, though, and so I'd like to get some reasonably fashionable driving shoes.

I've been looking at the Piloti shoes - the G16 and Monaco - and was wondering if anyone has a pair and can offer any opinions? Also, a name of a place in the UK that actually sells them would be a bonus too!

Thanks in advance.

Despite being quite worn on the sole, my normal shoes have a 32mm (1 1/4") sole in places and so they can be a bit "negative" to drive in. Virtually zero feel of the contact between my foot and the pedal, and when wet are very slippery when operating the pedals. It's to the extent where I've had to brake using the pedal arm rather than the pedal itself, as my foot has slipped forward clean off the pedal.

The above slippers are a temporary idea for a solution, as there's only about half an inch between my foot and the pedal - they seem a bit better, but being a pair of slippers aren't exactly great! :p

What shoes do you wear? I almost always use wear my Vans when i'm driving, I can feel the pedal fine :)

lol, you're all nuts. I just drive in whatever I'm wearing - makes no difference whatsoever.

My wife on the other hand has to have a spare pair of driving shoes in the car cos she generally wears high heels - is there something you lads arent telling us? ;)

I normally wear my vans when driving but bought some Kangol things the other week and are much better to drive in as you can feel the pedals more and be a lot more sensitive. However I find my vans fine still as it's usually a pedal to the metal affair ;)

F355, if I get a Rover, I'll get a flat cap, a box of tissues for the parcel shelf and a pipe to match the slippers and drive around all day long in it

Lol, I've driven in wellies, rigger boots, trainers, shoes, socks, bare feet, with one foot and with no feet at all! (sitting on the seat back, head out of the sunroof!) Can't say I've ever given it a second thought whats on, or not on, my feet.

That said, I never drive without wearing my pink tutu and tiara ;)

I like the look of the G16s and the Monacos ive been thinking about getting either pair for a couple months now :D
If you have any questions about the range and where they sell them just give them an email. I emailed them once and they are a really friendly compony and tell you every thing you want to know :)
I just need to get enough money to buy a pair :(
