I warn you now that if you're easily moved to tears by disturbing pictures then you may not want to watch this photo essay. Its a brilliant photo essay and well worth watching but it is very moving and very powerful. It does require sound for the commentary.

As said before some stunning and moving pics, really feel for those children..affected by a tragedy that had absolutely nothing to do with them...in the wrong place at the wrong time

.

Was just reading through the timeline of the disaster and was quite shocked that they allowed the experiment to carry on even though it was dangerous..bloody stupid russians.

I do remember the disaster myself back in '86 but i was quite young and didnt quite realise the impact it had on people and the world in general. Reading various articles about it has given me a better understanding of it and this link puts it all into perspective for me.

Such sad pictures though
