Chimpanzee on Richard and Judy

Anyone watching these tests on this chimp on TV. One test was a dark screen, then in a flash, 5 random numbers would appear scattered on the screen then dissappear, replace by dots. We are talking milliseconds.
A human could not do this test, yet the chimp got the correct sequence right 90% of the time. :eek:

The program about this chimp is on Ch5 tonight at 7.30pm.

yep just saw this

the chimp remembered 5 numbers, then touched the dots where the numbers were from lowest to highest in 200ms

Prob explain why tonight. Also showed a clip of the chimp in front of a screen with a circle with a load of dots in it, before I could count the dots, the chimp had already added up the dots and picked the square with the number representing the correct total in. :eek:

Maybe we didn't evolve from Chimpanzee's and really they evolved from us and are biding their time until we make ourselves exstinct whilst thinking we're a better race, only warning us with their supreme mathematical skills.

can't remember the exact reasons why.. but show a chimp 5 or 6 items/numbers whatever very fast and it is more acurate than a human.. i do believe most humans strugle past 4 items... however the human brain is much better at calculating large numbers of objects.. i.e. throw two handfulls of pencils on the floor let a person have a quick look they should beable to give you a "ruff" estimation very quickly.. a chimps brain can not do this..

I maybe talking rubbish but pretty sure I read that somewhere recently

Nobody can say if it was staged or not.
Also just because that, does not mean anything, I mean they dont have to worry themselves with other stuff, like going to work and paying bills!
