Chinese GP 2009 - Race 3/17

Excellent performance from RBR. Let's see if Brawn have an answer when it comes to the race.

Piquet must be a bit red-faced to see Alonso putting an identical car to his on the front row...

I don't think piquet has the new renault difuser does he?

I'm expecting his car to come in very early with that time though, must be fuelled light.

Missed quali (silly fia and these "friendly times" i want 3am again!)

Anyway WOW! that pretty much sums up quali! Think i might try and watch the race :D

Also bets are on how many more races Piquet gets..... (im on he wont make it back to Europe unless he scores points before then)

But he has a good relationship with Alonso and that's important!... (Quoted from Briagayness)

Anyways, off for a nap then Prison Break, later folks & folkesses.

Superb effort from RBR, great driving with such few laps from Vettel.

Alonso & Lewis are proof that the new diffuser actually makes a huge difference, cant wait for RBR and Ferrari to get them, methinks Brawn might be going backwards lol and the sigs disappearing again :-)

Strange how Massa didn't make it to Q3 and Barri outqualified Button. Should be a good race!

Interesting numbers. If they're actually indicative of the fuel loads and not other factors, it would appear that most of the drivers are going for a relatively short first stint (getting the super softs out of the way?) whilst Hamilton, Rosberg and Buemi are going for a long first stint (presumable on the Medium tyre); and Kimi is going for some kind of intermediate strategy.

The short stinting drivers who got the super softs out of the way certainly seemed to have an advantage at the end of the Australian GP. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Oh, and which of the two Brawns do we expect to fluff the start this race?

Impressive stuff from Red Bull, though we must see how they perform in the race. My gut tells me that the BrawnGP cars tend to have an advantage over the rest of the field when it comes to the race proper. I think the BrawnGP cars will do their overtaking at the pit stops.

But once again we see that Brawn GP are not holding back as has been suggested on here so often. Lets see how much fuel they each have, Im expecting the Brawns to be fairly heavy, definitely more so than those ahead of them! Obviously not many cars with KERS so should be fairly even on the start!

Was quite a good session I thought, was absolutely knackered though, didn't watch the build up/aftermath...

Think we're on for an interesting race, hopefully Vettel and Alonso can spice things up a bit. :)

From hearing Button after the race, he seemed genuinely suprised at the final pace of the RBR car's. He said that in Q2 where everyone is light they had 3 tenths over the Brawn cars.

I dont think the Brawn cars are going to have a huge difference in fuel loads like 5 laps over the RBR cars. When the weights are released, Im sure it will tell the whole story though.

Im expecting Alonso to fly off the line and be ahead into in the first corner. If Renault have good race pace, having a super quick first stint may just play quite well for them.

Enjoyed that session,we have so much more to come when the European races begin.

I thought Alonso drove the balls off of his Renault light or not and what was going on with LH and his wheels lifting?

Well I look forward to it! I dread to think how fast that car will get with addition and Mr. Newey gets it all sorted diffuser wise!

He verily did, he looks a lot leaner and healthier this season too. Hope he keeps it going, I developed a lot of respect and a bit of love for ol' Fred at the end of last season.

LH's wheels were weird  I thought F1 cars had mega hard suspension to keep them planted... Not squishy to go 3 wheeling..

Big grats to Seb V though. Hope he doesn't let me down! He's one of my fantasy F1 team :p
