If they manipulated space time or utilised anti grav technology, a disc is the perfect shape for great aerodynamics to travel in all directions.

You wouldnt need old tech like wings when you had anti grav.

Aye, if you can manipulate gravity and space/time (or even just gravity), you'd presumably have enough power at your fingertips that bothering about little things like aerodynamics probably wouldn't be high on your list of priorities, especially if the ship was intended to spend any serious amount of time in a vacuum.

A disc isn't a great shape aerodynamically speaking anyway (certainly for some of the manoeuvres these UFO's are meant to do), let alone a good use of space (or a good surface to volume ratio).
