Chippy for £1??

Chippies are few and far between around here and the best one is a couple of miles away run by an Italian family. It’s worth the drive to get a meal.

A tasty one.....

Looks more like a red pudding (albeit, before it's battered) than a sausage. Haven't actually found a chippy in Glasgow that does red pudding. Battered white pudding is also awesome, but equally as rare in Glasgow.

Mmm, might get a chippy tonight. :D

People still say supper?

What do you call it? Just 'Sausage and chips', 'Haggis and chips'?

"Fish Supper" is what traditionally was the term used for a dinner consisting of a type of fish with chips. It's still a popular term used by Chippies, which is why they are obviously advertising it outside.

Personally though I've always said "I'm going to have Fish and Chips" rather than a "Fish Supper".

Same as you. Going the chippy, chippy tea.

But when you're at the chippy, you say 'Fish supper' please. Never heard anyone call it a 'chippy tea'.

You go to the chippy, to get x supper.

My brother, and I can only assume it's an Aberdonian thing, calls a chippy a chipper.

I see you live in London. Where abouts are you talking about? I am keen to find a decent chippy around here.
