Chivalry: Medieval Warfare - Fps/hand to hand combat sim ( INDIE )

I thought I was complaining about spamming not saying I wish there was more of it, but thanks for you're helpful comment :P

I think Neil makes a valid point about overcoming the spammers tbh. It's pretty easy to just block the next hit if they caught you with the first. The only weapons that are tricky are footmen with maces because they can swing really quickly and combo the crap out of you while you're on the back foot.

If they hit you with a slash and then a stab... well fair play to them for catching you off guard.

Get on mumble with us one night and we'll have a boxing match to work out the tension :p

I really like this game but I'm so crap at it! Need to stop charging in

Your mistake is not screaming enough. More screaming is required. Pound the X key as often as you can, interspersed with some laughter as you slay your enemies. The odd taunt if you have time is helpful. FOOOOR THE ORDEEEEER!

But yeah, if you haven't already, I found the SP training quite handy.

I'll be playing tonight 8pm ish, see you on mumble!

I can't start to imagine how difficult it it to make a sword fighting game and I'm not surprised no one has really done it before.

There are lots of flaws and issues with the combat and net code trying to thread all the swings and animations around each other.

You get people killing you with no action (you don't see them do anything), or they slide around you, bounce off you, stick to you or simply aren't even close to you. Same goes for defenders who repel your attack with showing any form of defence, even from behind at times. Same goes for allies and objects that seem to either stick to you or repel you.

I've had a few good/fair swordfights that lasted many blow, but they pale in to comparison with the 'wtf' moments.

I have to say, I haven't experienced any buggy play on any of the servers provided my ping was decent. Generally it was really solid with only very rare glitches. That's pre patch though, so I'll have to see if that's all changed.

Ok well now playing as a Knight I'm much happier.

I had the most hilarious and intense 4 on 1 scenario where I kept blocking their advances, one after the other, took one down and backed off, two rush me and in a matter of seconds I've decapitated one and the other is missing a leg, the fourth turns and runs... I charge him down.

Now that was really good fun and what games should be about (I was in tears of laughter), bludgeoning groups of adversaries whilst shouting a war cry!

Crikey my opinion of this game goes from love to hate constantly!

The MAA cause me the most issue, second only to the knight with that insanely powerful 1 hit kill hammer!
