Choice of 3 cards for rebuild

Just about to rebuild my brother in laws PC and he has 3 graphics cards, not sure which one to use as don't know a lot about cards.

These are the 3 he has...

GF4 MX460
GF4 Ti 4200 8xAGP (DVI)
9800 Pro 128MB

Yup 9800pro, i upgraded from a GF4 Ti 4600 to one, cracking cards.

2nd'd - had a MX440 in an old machine and got a whopping 450 in 3D03(!)

Indeed. The GF4 MX series were basically GF2 MX's on steroids.

They were still reasonably quick for their time (as a budget card) but will now show their age considerably.


What you basically had was:

Direct X 9 ATI Radeon 9800PRO

Direct X 8 Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti4200

Direct X 7 Nvidia Geforce 4MX460 .


That is also the order of performance as well.
