Chonicles of Riddick on Steam - £3.75

Pardon? Another setting? You mean 2 settings and then click apply? If so, i've already done that to no avail. Might try and fiddle with the settings file if there is one. Also which is better to have, SSAO or MSAA AA?

that worked for me

if it doesn't then try
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Atari\The Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena

put your own user name in where it says user

there is a file called Enviroment
change the line
VID_MODE=1680 1050 32 120
..................res.......colour...refreshrate
to your desired setting

Glad it only cost £3.75 as not worth much more to me I still have the original bought on release back in Dec 2004 & its superior to this game IMO.

In 2005 this was stunning & ahead of its time nowadays its just whatever...........

AWPC give it another go mate mate. If you were reading my posts that was me being retarded! Basically I didn't realise you had to use mouse scroll to get more graphic options, this remake looks absolutely fantastic and i'll post some screens later. Playing Butcher Bay also.

Completed butcher bay in 1 marathon sitting the other night! Really good game and enjoyed the twists in it, although some sections where insanely hard unless your truly good at being stealthy (which it appears I'm rubbish at)

Gonna try the athena one probably thursday night/friday when i get chance

But you get an updated copy of the original with it as well??? The updated original on it's own is worth more than £4 IMHO.

The newer game, whilst it's not as good as the original, is still around 8 hours of gameplay and continues on with the story which I found quite good.

Its not a huge improvement to me but fairplay to Atari for letting it go on sale so cheap but the mini levels are still tiny & the animation is just as jerky as ever especially climbing ladders.

It was way ahead of its time 6 years ago but starting to show its age badly now.............

Wow! 8 hours solid? I've never been able to do that.

Isn't that a bit of a contradiction in terms though - if it was so far ahead of its time, it wouldn't be creaking at the seams now only 6 years on? :)

Anyway I completed this today, as I intimated in an earlier post it is a bit of a guilty pleasure - doesn't do anything particularly well but is fairly easy-going giving you a bit of FPS/melee/stealth/platform, an easy game to play. Compared to BB it is probably a bit less confusing, there was only one place I went the wrong way (climbing up a bunch of blocks into a vent, (after you collect the spare parts) where there was an inactive monster thingy, only to find out that you are supposed to go back exactly the way you came in. It smacked of a bit of level design that was cut from the storyline/game but remained in the level, bit of a red herring (and annoying if you've just spent 10mins going that way and trying to find a way out of this vent).

A couple of definite nods to the film Aliens I thought, no spoilers but I was reminded of Newt and a similar ending, plus the mech section of course.

All in all considering you get BB with this I'd say it is worth the cash.
