Also, I don't suppose if you know if the MSI R9 290X Gaming Edition 4GB GPU has a 1.2 displayport port? I can't find any information on it anywhere (not even MSI's website).

Not sure on our shipping, but we use DPD so same as anyone using them, probably Monday/Tuesday for delivery.

Ask in graphics forum your question as they will know the answer in there.
 
Just ordered one of the Flatron 34" Monitors. First payment transaction failed, second one succeeded. Paypal charged twice :(

Sometime beginning of next week til it's fixed I guess?

It seems a bit strange that it is limited to only 50 Hz, unless it's a typo. Unfortunately no AMD FreeSync too although I am happy I will not be limited to 30 fps :).

Don't worry mate, my MSI R9 290 Gaming DP port works fine @ 3840X2160@ 60Hz with the supplied 1.2 monitor cable. Remember the monitor max display is 3840X2160 @60Hz

Could you give me a few examples of performance I can expect running games at 4K with a R9 290X? Your specifications (4690k/R9 290) are quite similar to mine (2500k/R9 290X) so it would be interesting to see the results.
